Personal & Professional Growth
This study abroad experience strengthened my independence, adaptability, and global perspective. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone while building communication and critical thinking skills that will support my future career.
Cultural Exploration & Travel
Throughout the program, I traveled to destinations including Kos, Tilos, Rhodes, Datça, Izmir, Bodrum, Nisyros, and more. Experiencing these diverse locations allowed me to engage with local communities, explore historic sites, and better understand regional differences in culture and lifestyle.
Services Marketing
In Services Marketing with Tim Ozcan, I learned how businesses create value through customer experience and service delivery. Studying internationally gave me insight into how service strategies vary across global industries.
Consumer Behavior
In Consumer Behavior, taught by Gizem Atav, I explored how cultural, social, and psychological factors influence purchasing decisions. Being abroad provided real-world context, allowing me to observe consumer behavior across different markets and cultures.
My Experience
During Summer 2025, I studied abroad through James Madison University, traveling throughout Greece and Turkey. This experience allowed me to immerse myself in new cultures while continuing my academic journey in an international setting.

Food played a huge role in my experience, offering a deeper connection to the culture in both Greece and Turkey. From enjoying traditional Turkish breakfast on the boat to trying local favorites like Symi shrimp, gyros, and doner, each meal reflected the unique flavors of the region. These shared dining experiences not only introduced me to new cuisines but also gave me a greater appreciation for the traditions and lifestyle of each culture.

Yula Beach & Chill

We stayed aboard the “Love Boat” while traveling through the Greek islands, departing from Bodrum, Turkey, a key stop along the journey. Living on the boat created a unique, immersive experience, allowing us to explore multiple destinations while enjoying life on the water.
While in Turkey, I visited Yula Beach and Chill on their grand opening, where I was able to relax and take in the coastal atmosphere. The beach offered a perfect mix of beautiful scenery, clear water, and a laid-back environment, making it a memorable spot to unwind and enjoy the local culture.

Throughout my time in Greece and Turkey, I loved exploring local markets and trying food from a variety of street vendors. From fresh, authentic dishes to unique handmade goods, each stop offered something new and reflective of the local culture. Shopping and eating this way gave me a more genuine experience, allowing me to connect with the everyday lifestyle of each destination.
